Italian know-how · Egyptian buildings
Ventilated façade systems designed for Egypt's hot, arid climate, backed by the construction experience of the EGY Holding group in Italy.
of Egypt's electric power goes to air conditioning in the peak summer months.
Alaa Olama, UNEP consultant and Head of the Egyptian District Cooling Code, quoted by UNEP, 2022.The technology
Three layers and one air gap: an outer cladding, a ventilated cavity open at the base and at the top, and an insulated wall that the sun never touches.
The outer panel absorbs the radiation instead of the structure.
Warmer air becomes lighter than the air around it.
It leaves through the top vents, carrying the heat away.
Fresh air enters at the base. The flow never stops.
No fans. No power. Only physics.
In section
Scroll and the cladding is fixed panel by panel. Once the cavity is closed, the warm air starts to rise and leaves at the top: no fans, no power.
Schematic drawing, not a construction detail.
The evidence
When ventilated façades are properly detailed. Cuce P.M., Cuce E., Processes 13(7), 2025: review of simulation and field studies across climates.
Versus an unventilated façade, in a hot arid climate. Alyahya A., Lannon S., Jabi W., Buildings 15(14):2491, 2025: CFD simulation, best configuration.
Illustrative renderThe real obstacle
Khamsin storms can fill the air cavity and stop the airflow. Sub-frames and cladding cost more than plaster on brick. Our design focus starts exactly there.
Design principles to be validated through testing and a monitored pilot.

The programme
A step-by-step path, starting from one measured building.
An Egyptian company to lead the programme locally.
International manufacturers chosen on climate performance.
One façade, fully monitored, compared with a standard wall.
Measured results guide public and private projects.
By Italy
EGY Holding also controls SMB S.r.l., an Italian construction company. EGY Green brings that way of building to Egypt, focused on one problem: buildings that overheat.
